2
Kailua Beach is where we launch our kayaks and land upon return. Its well known for being one of the most family friendly beaches on Oahu.
3
Take in the Ko’olau Mountains, one of Oahu’s most iconic natural landmarks. This ancient volcanic mountain range runs along the island’s eastern side, its emerald-green cliffs and jagged peaks rising above Windward Oahu.
4
You will have excellent views of the Kaiwa Ridge, home to the popular Pillbox hike. Two WWII-era concrete lookouts sit along the crest, and from below you can spot them against the skyline.
5
Paddle along Lanikai Beach, one of the top rated beaches in the world, famed for its soft white sand, turquoise water and great snorkeling.
6
Amazing views of Nu’uanu Pali, one of Oahu’s most famous scenic landmarks, set high in the Ko’olau Mountains between Honolulu and Windward Oahu. The Pali (“cliff” in Hawaiian) is known for its sheer green cliffs, sweeping views over Kaneohe and Kailua, and the strong trade winds that funnel through the pass. Your guide will share the history of this area, including the 1795 Battle of Nu’uanu, when King Kamehameha I’s forces won the decisive battle that brought Oahu under his rule.
7
Look out over the water to Rabbit Island, known in Hawaiian as Manana Island, rising from the ocean off Oahu’s southeast coast. Just offshore from Makapu’u Point and Waimanalo, this rugged volcanic islet is a protected seabird sanctuary, home to nesting seabirds like shearwaters and terns.
8
(*If Self-Guided, the itinerary is flexible.) The final destination is Moku Nui of the famed Twin Islands. This is a bird nesting sanctuary that requires special permission to visit. Hawaiian monk seals are often basking on the beach and sea turtles feed on the coral reefs around the islands. Start off with a short hike to Queen's Bath tide pool and take the plunge into a salt water jacuzzi with a view. Hike back and go for a snorkel, searching for our sea turtle friends and schools of tropical fish. After this you've certainly earned your lunch so we break out a picnic and munch while watching the waves and the incredible view of the Ko'Olau Mountains. Native sea birds cruise overhead and your guide's tell the tales of Hawaiian explorers that traveled these waters.
9
Pass by Waimanalo Beach on Oahu’s windward coast, a long crescent of soft white sand and clear turquoise water at the foot of the Ko’olau Mountains. Stretching for miles, it’s one of the longest sandy beaches on the island, lined with ironwood trees and far less crowded than the busy beaches of Waikiki.
